F.W. Murnau’s Sunrise (1927), a silent film masterpiece of love, betrayal, and redemption. Enhanced by live music composed and performed by pianist Donald Sosin with singer/percussionist Joanna Seaton, this poetic double-Oscar winner is considered one of the greatest films ever made.

Joanna Seaton and Donald Sosin bring their unique blend of keyboards, vocals and percussion to major American film festivals—New York, TriBeCa, Telluride, San Francisco, Seattle, Denver,—and to MoMA, Lincoln Center, the National Gallery, Moscow's prestigious Lumière Gallery, the Thailand Silent Film Festival, the Yorkshire Silent Film Festival in England, the Jecheon International Music and Film Festival in South Korea, and annual silent film retrospectives in Bologna and Pordenone. They have writtten many songs to accompany silent films. They have played numerous times at Brown, Harvard, Cornell, Yale, and many other colleges, and created scores for over 65 silent film DVDs on the Criterion, Kino, Milestone, and other labels. They lead songwriting and silent film music workshops at colleges in the US and at festivals abroad.
