Award-winning pop/jazz vocalist Barbara Fasano returns to Music Mountain with her signature mashup of pop and jazz standards that unite the generations. A Resident Artist at New York’s legendary Birdland Jazz Club, she’s been praised as “exhilarating … a lyrically sensitive interpreter” by The New York Times. Drawing from eclectic influences – Sinatra and Peggy Lee to singer/songwriters like Joni Mitchell & Carole King to Cole Porter classics -- Barbara is a spellbinding storyteller-in-song, reinventing the music with her uniquely expressive interpretations, and placing it squarely in our time. Her latest CD BUSY BEING FREE was called “intelligent, lush and sexy” by Huffington Post. BUSY BEING FREE and her previous CD WRITTEN IN THE STARS were both awarded the MAC Award for Recording of the Year. Her performances have taken her from Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center to Saratoga Jazz Festival, Italy’s Monteverdi Tuscany, London’s Pizza Express, and nightclubs and music festivals across the country.

Joining Barbara is her frequent collaborator, acclaimed pianist/singer Eric Comstock (“expert musicianship and joie de vivre in equal measure” - The New Yorker). Married musical partners, Eric and Barbara’s cozy New York apartment is filled with awards for their concerts and recordings, including 8 MAC Awards, 5 New York Bistro Awards, and the New York Nightlife Award. In October 2021, they received the prestigious Donald F. Smith Award from the Mabel Mercer Foundation, acknowledging their artistry. During the pandemic, their weekly series #72andsong streamed music from their New York apartment on social media – over 70 episodes in all. That and more can be found on their YouTube channel. Their new CD drops later this year.

Rounding out the trio is eminent bassist Boots Maleson, known for his collaborations with Ron Carter, Dexter Gordon, Milt Jackson and more. Together this trio makes the American Songbook come alive, and audiences feel they’ve been to a terrific party where the songs and the stories are equally great.
