F.W. Murnau’s Sunrise (1927), a silent film masterpiece of love, betrayal, and redemption. Enhanced by live music composed and performed by pianist Donald Sosin with singer/percussionist Joanna Seaton, this poetic double-Oscar winner is considered one of the greatest films ever made.

Hugo Kauder and the Gordon String Quartet 

Pre-Concert Talk with Barbara von Bechtolsheim. Three great refugee artists meet at a remote college – Hugo Kauder, Josef Albers, Walter Gropius – while the Gordon String Quartet travels from Music Mountain to Black Mountain College to give six concerts.

From Music Mountain to the Himalayas

Pre-Concert Talk with Judith Glyde, former cellist of the Manhattan String Quartet (in residence at Music Mountain 1981-88) and author of “Under the Goddess of the Sky – A Journey Through Isolation, Bach and the Himalayas.”

Music Mountain Chamberfest

Family Concert with the Ulysses Quartet: "Around the World"

Free 45-minute Event. Including brief engaging presentations, short performances, and Q&A. This program introduces young people to music from different parts of the world, exploring concepts of rhythm, harmony, style, and stringed instrument techniques.
