SATURDAY JUNE 14, 6:30 PM

Chorus Angelicus
Nicholas White, Artistic Director

Connecticut’s premiere children’s choir, 25 singers ages 12-17, with guest soloists, gives
a concert featuring works by Purcell, Vivaldi, Schubert, Mendelssohn and Brahms, and
new music by recently appointed director, Nicholas White, including the Connecticut
premiere of White’s “The Aim Was Song.”

The Swingtime Big Band
Music Mountain Debut
The Swingtime Big Band vividly brings this classic music to life for a new generation in
three-dimensional sound, authentically recreating the style, musicality and essence of
each Swing Era band that originated the hits from the Great American Songbook.

These guardians of traditional jazz draw from their abundant repertory from 1920’s classics to Preservation Hall standards. Penetrating rhythm, flawless ensemble. A great show!

The Silk City Barbershop Chorus
This dynamic, many-member and multi-award winning Barbershop chorus returns to sing show tunes, blues, doowop and gospel all in four-part barbershop harmony.

Joyce Lyons and her New York Jazz All-Stars
Music Mountain debut
A truly magnetic and joyful performer, Joyce Lyons is described in Backstage Magazine as "what Cabaret is all about." She digs into the lyrics of a song, whether hard swinging Jazz, Classic Broadway or from the Great American Songbook. With Don Rebic, piano, Jay Leonhart, Bass, and Dave Stillman, Drums.

The Afro-Semitic Experience
Music Mountain debut
A unique, fabulous and exciting melding of jazz cultures and sacred music from the Afro-American and Jewish traditions. Imagine Charles Mingus sitting in with a Klezmer band and playing Gospel music.

The Galvanized Jazz Band
Special high-energy renditions of traditional New Orleans blues, stomps and spirituals, with exciting guest artists. Memorable music from a treasured era of jazz.

David Rogers & Imaginary Homeland
A soulful blend of African fiddles, talking drums and jazz. Combines the best of contemporary jazz with West African instruments, melodies and rhythms. The music wants to make you dance but never stop listening.
